Leontye Price was the first African American opera star. Her voice was known to bring Audiences to their feet and she starred in musical productions from some of the finest composers ever. She once receieved a 42-minute ovation.

Opera singing is surely different from choral singing - but both can be perfect examples humanity's ability to produce exquisite beauty through song.
